Welcome to the Bard Wiki. Here you will find documentation on the current architecture, releases, and news regarding Bard. Bard is being developed at NCSA by Shawn Hampton, Jong Sung Lee, Christopher Navarro and Nathan Tolbert.

About Bard

Bard represents a layer of abstraction providing access to data and metadata managed by Tupelo as well as GIS functionality, visualization tools (2D & 3D), charting and reporting that were developed as part of the MAEviz project (NCSA-GIS). Bard is intended to be the base application that provides the common core components upon which domain-specific applications are built; a great example is the MAEviz project that was recently completed for the Mid America Earthquake (MAE) Center and is depicted in the diagram below. This logical separation saves time and resources that can instead be used to develop features required specifically for the project.
