About Bard

Bard is a base application that provides data management, GIS functionality, visualization tools (2D & 3D), charting and reporting that were developed as part of the MAEviz project (NCSA-GIS). Bard is intended to make available the common core components upon which domain-specific applications are built; a great example is the MAEviz project that was recently completed for the Mid America Earthquake (MAE) Center and is depicted in the diagram below. This logical separation saves time and resources that can instead be used to develop features required specifically for the project.
