A generalized component for handling actions which should be taken on the basis of remote events.

From the design, it should be clear that the triggering events and triggered actions are fully extensible.
Prototype
Currently a prototype exists which uses RSS feeds to trigger submissions to the Workflow Broker on the basis of mesoscale activity for severe storms. The image below represents the cumulative results of triggered workflows run as part of the LEAD 2007 Spring Forecast experiment.
