Radiant cost calculator
This spreadsheet (NCSA_Radiant_cost_calculator.ods) is an unofficial document created by Andrew Manning after discussions with Doug Fein and others on the Slack channel #radiant-discussion.
Some notes:
- Cells in gray are not to be edited.
- VMs come in a static set of “flavors”. These flavors have CPU and RAM values that obey the ratio of 1 CPU to 2 GB RAM that defines the “compute unit”.
- The flash storage request (F) is in addition to the base SSD capacity included in the VM flavors.
- The high-capacity storage (S) is accessible via NFS mounts and is thus slower speed.
- The cost incurred each month is based on the resources allocated, not by the resource usage, so if 5 VMs are allocated but only 2 VMs are instantiated and used, the project is still charged for 5 VMs.
- Requested resources can be adjusted on a monthly basis.
