Pilots at University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign

This page summarizes plans for NDS pilot projects that involve NCSA, the UIUC Library, other units on the UIUC campus, and our extra-campus partners. NDS pilot projects are those that help us prove out needed components of the NDS.  These tend to be more limited in scope than the NDS as fully envisioned.

Discipline-oriented Pilots

Data Repository and Publishing Pilots

These pilots are all variations on providing a repository for published data that includes tools for collaborative sharing prior to publication and for preparing data for publication.

The Materials Data Facility:  a repository for sharing and publishing materials science data

Astronomy Data Repository:  a repository for sharing and publishing computational astrophysics and observational astronomy data.

Genomics Archive for Sequencing Data:  an archive for capturing data from genomic sequencing labs and distributing it to scientists for analysis.
