Round Table Discussion:  What Does Success Mean as it Relates to Software Development, Moderated by Leigh Fu

As the tech landscape continuously evolves, so does the definition of success for developers, teams, and organizations. Whether it’s delivering bug-free code, achieving faster deployment times, or creating impactful user experiences, success can wear many hats. But this isn’t just about listening – we want to hear from you. How do you define success? Is it meeting deadlines, exceeding user expectations, or perhaps something more intangible? And how can we quantify these aspect? As we tackle these questions, we’ll also dive into proven methodologies such as the System Usability Scale (SUS), a reliable tool for assessing the perceived usability of a product, and heatmaps, which visually capture where users interact most on a platform. Come, share your perspectives, learn from peers, and let’s collaboratively redefine what success means in NCSA’s software development ecosystem.
