DISCUSSION
- Phase II award was made on June 1, 2019 by NSF
- Congratulations!

- a more detailed press release will come out in the next couple of weeks including quotes from all PI institutions
- Transition to phase 2
- The new Project Team (PIs of phase 2) has met twice so far and is working on Strategic Plan and various Committees composition
- Thank you from PI Bill Gropp on Steering Committee work and support to the Hub on phase 1
- The Steering Committee in phase 2 is replaced by a "Community Stakeholder Committee" with a similar role of guidance and support of membership and engagement activities
- This is the last Steering Committee meeting of phase 1
- Feedback from Lessons Learned survey
- received a total of 3 responses so results have to be kept in perspective
- Goals & Objectives: Success around past efforts, notably developing partnerships and thinking of sustainability models, but still some work to do about securing activities and funding sources in the future, including public-private partnerships.
- Governance & Management: Satisfaction expressed on present Steering Committee, although clarifying roles and responsibilities would be welcome
- Community building and programmatic activities: All-Hands Meetings were cited as a success, but the selection of activities within the Hub seemed a bit opportunistic and scattered without an overarching strategy
- Opportunities to pursue: need for a strategic portfolio and value proposition for the Hub and for its members
- Sustainability: need to work on the report that was produced and take action
- Outcomes and metrics: # of organizations actively participating and types of contributions, educational support such as internships, hackathons, # of non-academic partners
- Other:
- a sponsorship prospectus for the All-Hands Meeting 2019 will be sent soon. SC member's help is seeked in circulating it to potential sponsors
- ED position not out yet but working on it and will need SC member's help in circulating it too
