Version 2.0 of Bard is in progress and as ideas and APIs become more concrete, they will be added here. Bard 2.0 will build on the success of Bard 1.0 and add a more robust Data Catalog and other exploratory features.
About Bard
...
Bard v2.0 represents a layer of abstraction providing access to data and metadata managed by Tupelo as well as GIS functionality, visualization tools (2D & 3D), charting and reporting that were developed as part of the MAEviz?project (NCSA-GIS) and available in Bard v1.0. Bard is intended to be the base application that provides the common core components upon which domain-specific applications are built; a great example is the MAEviz project that was recently completed for the Mid America Earthquake (MAE) Center and is depicted in the diagram below. This logical separation saves time and resources that can instead be used to develop features required specifically for the project. Version 2.0 will include a more robust Data Catalog based on Tupelo and will have the ability to tag, annotate and search the catalog.
